Childrens Ministries

The Childrens Ministries at Southside range from Birth to 5th Grade.

Awali Land is an exciting ministry for our nursery and preschool children. Our mission in Awali Land is to give preschoolers (birth through kindergarten) a lasting impression of God.
 
We believe that it is never too early to begin building a foundation of faith, and that even the littlest children have a tremendous capacity to learn and apply basic Bible principles.
 
In Awali Land, we teach and reinforce three basic truths:

    1) God Made Me
    2) God Loves Me
    3) Jesus Wants to be My Friend Forever
 
We consider Awali Land to be a foundational ministry of our church, and it is definitely not a babysitting service. With creative environments, loving volunteers, and hands-on learning experiences, we strive to provide the very best care for our precious preschoolers during every Sunday morning and Wednesday night worship service.

Kid’s Town is the place where elementary aged kids meet new friends and study God’s Word while their parents are in the adult worship service.

Kid’s Town is also a place where the Bible comes alive, the music is seriously jammin’, and the leaders really care.

Although we teach all kinds of virtues and principles in Kid’s Town, we especially emphasize three basic truths. We think that these three truths are extremely important for elementary students to know. These three truths are:

    1. I need to make the wise choice
    2. I can trust God no matter what
    3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Kids Town happens every Sunday mornings at 9:00 am in the Fusion Building.

Fusion is a 45-minute weekly program that uses music, drama, and storytelling to entertain and inspire kids and their parents. It’s church like you’ve never seen it before!

In a nutshell, Fusion is…

· Creatively Wired- where video, lights, sound, and drama are used to make a lasting impression

· Family Centered - where parents and kids spend quality time together

· Kid Focused - where learning is fun and relevant for elementary age kids

More specifically, in Fusion, we talk about, sing about, and laugh about a specific virtue. It’s the same virtue taught in Kid’s Town, but in Fusion, the whole family is in on the fun, and as a result, they are able to talk about what they learned the rest of the week.

AWANA is a very exciting ministry with leaders who are dedicated to the children. We view AWAN as an instructional ministry, an outreach ministry, and memorization ministry. AWANA is based upon simple goals: to teach the children to know, love, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
